Rainy Days in Sacramento

The day after Christmas my sister and I drove down to California to have Christmas with our dad. Even though we tend to rag on Sacramento a lot, it is a pretty cool city! It’s small, not as big as a San Francisco or L.A, but it is the Capital so that makes it feel a little bigger. It is also home to Sacramento State University, so there is plenty of nightlife, as well as funky little stores and coffee shops. This trip, we found out Sacramento is home to a ton of really awesome murals! I’m sure my dad knew this but somehow Avery and I weren’t aware. So, with the help of my dad, and Avery being willing to stand in the rain and take photos for me, we got this wonderful, mural filled urban shoot!

This top was a Christmas gift from my dad and wow did he hit it out of the park with this one. It’s soft, cotton, t-shirt material and somehow so warm. Its cuffed on the bell-like sleeve and has a nice v-neck detail at the collar. Plus the color makes it so it can go with denim, black, grey, even olive-colored bottoms!

Next up we have some accessories: a scarf and a backpack! The scarf was a Christmas gift form my mom and it is amazing! Super soft, super big, and it has little bits of color weaved into the ends that can compliment all the things you wear it with. The backpack is Free People and can be worn as a side bag as well as a backpack! Super versatile and super convenient! And super cute.

I have written about these jeans and boots many a time, so all that is different here is that I finally gave in and wore my docs with jeans that were not skinny. I was worried it would all look a little too chunky, but hey! I am converted and will be wearing them like this a lot more.
