Daisy Jones and the Six Style
Well, it’s time. Time to showcase my favorite show in a while, my favorite book to tv adaptation maybe ever, and my new style obsession: Daisy Jones and the Six. I read this book last year after it had been on my TBR list for over a year and I am so bummed I waited as long as I did to read it. But maybe that made my excitement for the show that much better since I had just read it and had fresh enthusiasm. This is not going to be a review of the show, so don’t worry about spoilers! But, if you read the book, or even just like the 70’s then you need to watch this show. Is anyone a fan of Almost Famous? Then this show is for you. Even if none of those things are true and you just like good tv then this one is for you. So, lets dive into the amazing style of this amazing cast.

We are going to jump right in with Miss Daisy Jones herself, played by Riley Keough. Daisy is the wild child, “I’m not the muse I am the somebody”, fiery, passionate, and out of control rockstar that is the main front runner (well besides Billy but we aren’t here for him today). She is loud and boisterous and her clothing reflects that perfectly. She wears what she wants even if it makes others uncomfortable, and even has a line in the show where she says “you know it’s not my job to not turn you on right?” and goes about her day. Earlier in the show, we see a lot of colorful pants and tops with basic accessories, and then as things move on with her and the band, she branches out to more eccentric items with lots of beading, fur, and fringe. She wears lots of tiny dresses and shorts with big tall boots, and lots of glam that still manages to feel natural for her. She really embodies the front-runner of a rock band and looks like a goddess doing it. All of her clothing portrays the idea that one cannot help but notice Daisy Jones, even if she is just walking down the street.

Next, we have the lovely Camila Dunne, played by the gorgeous Camila Morrone. She is one of my favorite characters in the book and in the tv show. Her look is soft and feminine, and very graceful, but she is very bold and blunt and there to tell everyone how it is. She is one of the only characters whose personality doesn’t fully match her outward style. She has some very glam moments like her fur-trimmed coat and massive glasses moment, but she is often seen in very earthy tones with florals, stripes, or even just other prints that look vaguely natural. Out of the main female characters she is also the one who dresses casually the most. Every so often when she is doing something with the band she gets into her rocker-wife persona, but overall she is very much herself. California cool, casual, and gorgeous.

The wonderful and badass Karen Sirko, played by Suki Waterhouse is the last lady of the show we are going to cover! I did my best to find photos for Simone, but there were only 2 or 3 outfits I could find on sites I can post photos from, and it seemed worse to only have a couple for her and so many for the rest than none at all. Now that the show has been out in full for a week, I will keep looking and update this post if more photos of her outfits become available!
Karen clearly had the edgiest style in the group. She is very the “woman in a man’s world” trying to always live up to who she wanted to be and not take any of the shit from the men around her. She is often in darker clothes, nothing very whimsical or flower power, with the only time we really see any whimsy from her being when she goes to the beach with Grahm. The rest of her outfits are very structured, very dark colors, and are completed by darker makeup. Her hair is often done in the undone, messy but great way, and she is almost never seen with any glitter on her anywhere. She has influences from Debbie Harry, especially when we see her in her talking head portions where she goes from the sun-kissed golden blonde to the platinum blonde. Out of everyone, she gives off the rocker chick vibe the most, even more than Daisy and she is the lead singer.
Free People also did a collection of Daisy Jones and the Six inspired pieces and outfits that I have linked here and they are amazing, so I highly recommend you peruse it! Especially if you’re now invested in 70’s fashion like I am ✨
