Check Mate

Well, yet another post before the snow and freezing fog entered our lives. But I was able to capture some great fall colors before the deep freeze made everything die, so it’s a small bonus!

This is one of my favorite outfits these days, and it is all due to this cardigan! it is so soft, such good quality without costing an arm and a leg, and just look at it! How cute! This color is what drew me to it initially and then once I saw the checkerboard nature of the sweater I was even more stoked. I was looking for a sweater that Selena Gomez’s charter in her show Only Murders in the Building wears in season 2 and wasn’t able to get the exact one. So as I searched for dupes, this one came up and looked so cute and cozy that I couldn’t help but give it a try. It met all my expectations and then some and has been surprisingly warm for What I thought it would be.

There is nothing else new about this outfit; I have worn these jeans in many posts, we have seen a lot of that tank top, and I can’t even count how many times I have worn these sneakers. As fun as it might be to always have something new to wear whenever I shoot, that is not only incredibly unrealistic, it is very wasteful. I am in no way a sustainable fashion guru or perfect at it by any means, but I do my best to buy from non-fast fashion retailers (this sweater is from Princess Polly but I do try) and always take care of my clothes to the best of my ability. Then that way the fast-fashion sweater will last way longer than it was intended and I can style it over and over again until it falls apart. And when I can, I buy higher-end items that are made better, with less waste, and will last longer. These are Reformation jeans and I can honestly say I have never owned a better pair of denim. So if you ever see me repeating outfits or parts of outfits, then mind your business and also do the same because as I said, incredibly unrealistic to try and always wear new clothes.

And a friendly reminder that your favorite influencers and content creators also repeat outfits, they just only take photos in their new pieces.
