Casual Post Surgery Look

I know this doesn’t look like much, but just bear with me a sec. Because since I have had surgery (post on all of that here) I have not been able to really wear jeans or any bottom that isn’t a skirt. And a high-waited skirt at that. But I am a denim person through and through, so finding bottoms I like has been quite a challenge. Enter these shorts I stole from my sister! They are high-waisted so no rubbing on my incisions, they are soft and flowy, plus they can be styled a million ways. This has been a go to look of mine lately for casual errand days or even just stay at home but need to get things done days. On the weekends I have been pretty busy working on my blog and creating content to get things ready for the week, but wearing sweats 24-7 doesn’t make me the most productive. This is a great look for those kinds of days.

I love a cropped moment, just scroll through this blog and you will be able to clearly see that. But, after surgery my stomach has had some swelling and been pretty distended so wearing clothing I feel comfortable in has been a challenge. All of my summer clothes are cropped, tighter, shorter, and usually that is exactly the vibe I am going for! Showing off some skin definitely makes me feel like a badass! But the swelling through a small wrench into the whole thing. While there are certain outfits I have just embraced the endo belly in (I can’t NOT wear my fave sun dress) there are others that seem to invite comments I don’t want to deal with. These comfy bra tops are one of those things. I have them in a few colors and wear them almost daily and did’t want to have to confine that to house wear. Thank god for baggy shorts and oversized denim jackets!

Even though this is definitely a surgery style, and I am nowhere near ready to admit that summer is coming to an end, this would also be a great transition outfit as we move into fall. No jacket makes it a little better for warmer days, but toss on the jacket and you can transition seamlessly into a cooler night.

I can’t say it enough, but thank you again for being so willing to adapt with me ad I learn a new schedule and get a new routine! I am slowly but surely learning a new way to get things accomplished while I figure out this new job working with my blog and social media stuff. This weekend I am going to do some planning and get some things ready! See you guys next week!
