Natural Habitat

The two things I love most in this world are fashion and books. So when I get to combine a shoot that has these two favorite things of mine in one photoshoot, I am over the moon. The only thing that would have made this better would have been a cup of coffee, but there is such a thing as too many props! I have been wanting to shoot this outfit for quite a while, but it definitely required the right slightly warm fall day, a weekend where I had nothing going on and neither did my mom or sister, and it required a day where the library was open! As you can see that was 3 perfect things that needed to all converge at one time and since my luck is not usually that lucky, it took a while. But! It ended up looking so good, so I am happy I waited for the perfect moment.

So I have already shot and talked about this jacket a million times. We know the drill: it is perfectly oversized, perfectly distressed, and the perfect light wash. Are we all on board? Because I want to talk about this linen dress and why I think it is becoming a wardrobe staple. I absolutely love this dress. I initially got it for work because it fits all of my dress code needs, but have worn and will continue to wear it outside of work. It is the perfect oversized fit with a bell sleeve and the cutest buttons down the front. They are all iridescent and remind me of seashells, which may not be a pro for everyone but definitely is for me! The fit of this dress is so good, like truly so wonderful. Even though it is oversized, it still looks flattering on the body and is the perfect length to divide the body up perfectly. I also pair this dress with tights and a sweater on chillier days, even though this is my preferred method of styling. it is honestly perfect for every season goes with everything, and is so easy to style. Everyone needs a linen dress added to their wardrobe ASAP.

Well, lovelies that is it for today! I am working on some holiday content, as well as some more content outside of the fashion realm to break things up a little bit! I have been doing a lot of polls and have been in a lot of conversations over on my Instagram to make sure everyone is on board with content! So if you don’t already follow me over there, head over to @mermaidmadey (linked on my homepage) and go follow! See you guys next week!
