Power Outfit
I am a little late on this post (my bad) but I have started having some unpleasant side effects from the Orlissa I recently started taking. I spent most of Monday fighting off hot flashes, nausea, and trying not to fall asleep at work or fall down from the palpitations. Oh, the joys of taking medication with hormones in them (I write as I sweat on to my keyboard from another hot flash)! However, I still love this shoot and I hope you all do too! This is my official power outfit, and I feel AMAZING in it. Keep scrolling to see my new favorite outfit!
While it is still hot out in most of the US, this outfit is perfect for transitioning day-to-night. Adding a red lip elevates the outfit by quite a lot and is the perfect way to also take it from day to night by adding a little extra something. To make this more summery, I have also worn my platform sandals I wore in my last post (found here) which you could still wear with the leather jacket over the top in the evening. Plus the length of the skirt adds a little extra warmth in the evening.
I got this skirt in the middle of the summer so I am not done wearing it! Once it gets colder and we hit winter, some sheer tights and a white sweater would be perfect to use as an all-weather outfit. As much as dressing for seasons is sometimes necessary, I hate having to give up certain pieces during the off months. While cropped tank tops and wool sweaters obviously don’t have a place in certain seasons, but certain things like this skirt can be used in winter too!
Since I have been in a much tighter budget since the pandemic, getting pieces like this that you can wear all summer and winter and really get the use out of your clothes. It also means that you end up buying less clothing and therefor less clothing waste. Getting clothing that you can wear for multiple things is the best for your budget and the environment!
