Slow Transition to Fall

Happy Sunday lovelies! I apologize for the wonky posting this past week, things have been very busy and I was not on top of blog things. This week is also gonna be busy, but I am so much better prepared! I am still learning how to navigate my day job with my passion project (blog) but I am making strides! There is lots of good content I have planned for you in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

Today, I happy to show you one of my new favorite looks, which is actually two looks. I got this dress on sale a little while ago and have just had so many ideas on how to style it! Keep scrolling to see multiple ways to style this one summer dress!

So all of these photos are the way to wear the dress in the summer! Some platform sandals really complete the 90’s vibe of the dress. It is a silky feeling material that makes it feel and look like a slip dress, even though there is a little more to it than that (like the bustier style cups on the bust). The slit up the side gives it the ability to be a much more sexy ensemble if you wanted it to be, and I think you could pair it with nude/white heels and have a much more sophisticated look. Pairing it with some white sneakers would also help give it that summery vibe that this dress is so clearly embodying. You would be able to have that crisp, clean, summer look with the white sneakers. A light denim jacket would also be great with the sneakers or the platform sandals I’m wearing if you needed a light layer!

I know most places are still experiencing some pretty high temps (I know over here in Oregon we are), but fall is just around the corner! Since I got this dress so late into summer, I wanted to make sure I had some options for fall I could style it with since I am not done wearing it yet. I’ve got my platform Vans on (yes, I have a think for platforms, don’t @ me) and tossed on a leather jacket to give it a little more contrast with both being black over a light dress. The dress is long enough that for fall it should keep your legs pretty warm if you are just going to work or what have you, but if it’s really chilly or you will be outside for a long period of time, maybe add some sheer tights. I also think this winter I could toss a white or black sweater over the top, add some tights, and throw on my docs and be ready to go! Living in the PNW I have to dress according to seasons or else I will freeze, but when it comes to seasonal colors, all of that is BS. You can wear white after labor day, neons in winter, and dark, moody colors in spring and summer. There are really no rules so wear what you love and don’t listen to people being naysayers.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I have another summer to fall post coming at you for you tomorrow! This outfit, and tomorrows outfit can both be used with various different pieces and you don’t need these specific ones to make this work! See ya tomorrow!
