Stop and Smell the Roses
Happy hump day lovelies! Whether you are back to work in the world or working from home, your week is halfway over and I know you can make it till Friday! I also hope everyone is wearing a mask whenever they leave the house and is also only leaving the house when absolutely necessary. Listen to the doctors, and if your politicians are saying something different than them, ignore them. At the end of this post, I will be including some more petitions that need to reach their goal and some more links to action items. The fight isn’t anywhere close to being over yet!
Today’s blog post is a fashion post in a way I haven’t done in a while! It was a lot of fun to go back out and shoot an outfit to share with all of you, and I have a few more in the works in the coming weeks. Keep scrolling to see one of my favorite outfits!
This dress has been around for almost 6 years! I purchased it on a whim with the money I had gotten from my horrible serving job the summer I graduated from high school. It was clearly money well spent since I am 23 and still wearing it all summer long! This dress is great because you can toss it over a swimsuit with some sandals and be good to go or add the docs and the denim jacket like I did here and have a slightly more fashionable look to go with. It’s very light and flowy which makes it the perfect summer dress.
I don’t think I need to talk about these boots any more than I already have, but I still love them as much as the day I bought them 6 years ago. If you need a sign to go and buy some Doc Martens, this is it! They do seem kind of spendy initially but all they last FOREVER! I have this pair that has been around for 6 years, a pair that has lasted for 7 years, and two newer pairs that still look brands new after 2 years. Spend the money. You will not regret it!
I hope you all enjoyed this one! Lots more fun and experimental shoots are coming your way, as well more on how white people can help be the best allies we can be as the movement to change the systemic racism in this country continues to fight. Below I have linked some more resources and petitions that need to be signed and helped! See you all on Friday!
Petition for Elijah McClain (a reminder not to donate to Change, just sign their petitions)
Petition for Breonna Taylor
National Resources link with updated action items
A complete guide to being the best ally you can be, no matter where you are in the journey
A video about being a better ally
Sign this petition for Isiah Wagoner who was leading a peaceful children’s protest in Eugene, OR, and was intentionally ran over with a car. This violence is happening everywhere not just big cities
