Where to Rent Luxury Fashion on a Budget

If you enjoy fashion at all, you probably have at least a small interest in luxury fashion and luxury brands. Maybe you have one favorite you love to follow, or maybe you love them all and follow Fashion Week like others follow the NFL draft. There are pieces we all covet after when it comes to luxury fashion items, but many of us are not able to spend the precious penny it costs to one them. Enter luxury fashion rental retailers! These are companies that have been making a breakthrough over the past few years since more and more young millennials are hustling hard, starting their careers earlier than other generations, and wanting to treat themselves to some of the finer things in life. However, most of us young, hustling millennials can’t quite afford to own these pieces for ourselves just yet. Many of these rental sites have options where you can be a member and have the opportunity to rent multiple things at a time, make lists of what you want to rent, have the ability to rent things for a longer period of time, and so much more! Lots of them offer services for non-members as well, so you can get a dress for that wedding you have coming up, or get a fun Chanel bag to tote around for the next month. Whatever your need, luxury fashion renters allow you to have the pieces you want without spending $2,000 on them.

Rent the Runway- I would say this is one of the better-known companies people rent from. They have been around for quite a long time and have such an amazing selection and price points! They offer both membership and one time rentals, depending on your need and what you are looking to get out of their service. They offer varying options at varying price points to accommodate any budget. It allows you to get the dress for the event, but not go broke while trying to make it happen.

Bag, Borrow, or Steal- This one is specifically for purses (my absolute favorite item) and allows people to rent bags, buy the bags, and re-sell their gently used designer bags! They give you a lot of flexibility to sell your bags you may not use as much anymore, buy gently used and new designer bags, but also offer the ability to rent them monthly, no membership required. Plus, if you have a bag for a month and decide you aren’t ready to part with it, you can always re-up your agreement for another month and keep on using it! They also have multiple bags at multiple price points so are only paying what you can afford monthly.

Rebag- This one isn’t a rental site but I still thought it was worth adding to this list. Rebag is a luxury consignment retailer, and everything they sell is pre-owned. Things are cheaper than if you were to buy them new and you can directly talk with the person you are buying from. Plus, Rebag vets everyone and every item so you are always getting a good deal but also always getting the real thing, never a knock off.

Fashion Pass- This is a newer company, but they still seem to be getting some great feedback and are doing really well! This is a subscription-based service where you choose pieces every month and then switch them out as you go. It’s all designer and higher price point items that a lot of people woudln’t be able to afford to purchase multiple pieces super often from, but with this rental subscription, you can!

Those are all of the ones I am going to link for now, since these are the most popular and the most affordable options. There are tons out there, and some that even focus on specific events, specific items, and some that cost a bit more. But I wanted to give the fashionistas like me out there some hope that you don’t need to be making 6 figures to be able to add a little bit of luxury to your wardrobe! Comment down below if you know of other fashion rental places that you think people should know about!

Madey

P.S. All of these places are taking Covid into account and quarantining pieces when they come back as well as steaming them and cleaning them properly.
