Welcome back!
Hi everyone! Long time no talk! If you follow me on social media, then you know this past year I was in a master’s program for journalism and had no time at all to do anything except work and school, so all blog stuff fell by the wayside. But I just graduated (yay!) and have more free time again! So, I will be back to blogging once a week, maybe more if I can, and I am so glad to be back.
There will be some changes! I was going to wait to launch again until I had the new design up and running, but I honestly just missed having this space to write and share things, so here we are. There will be a new site design soon, and there will be some new verticals here with new things I discovered I loved to write about in school. All of this will probably be coming through in the next month or so, so stay tuned!
For the next two and a half weeks, I am in Charleston, South Carolina, completing the internship requirement for my degree, which means a lot of travel posts, fun outfits, and lots of restaurant recommendations! I am keeping a list and notes of all of the things we are doing and also keeping you all updated in real time on my socials as well (@mermaidmadey on Instagram and TikTok), so make sure you follow me there too!
Today, we are going back to the original point of this blog: fashion. What better to launch back into the blog than with an outfit post?
I bought this dress with Charleston in mind, knowing I would need a lot of flowy clothing to cope with the heat and humidity down here. I have already worn it twice and am happy to report that it’s easy to dress up or down, and is as comfy as it looks. The structured top makes it feel a lot more put together and gives some shape, but it’s not overly tight or restricting, which makes it perfect for the 70-100% humidity going on down here.
I am so excited to keep posting from this trip! It has been such a fun week and a half, and I know it’s only going to get better as we go!
