Oversized or Bust
The fashion powers that exist on social media have been debating a very hot button issue since the spring of 2020: big pants tiny top, or big top tiny pants? Which one is superior? Which style says what about you? How do you pick? While they fight in the trenches dealing with this eternal question, I have decided that while I like both and see the fun of both, if I had to pick one to wear for the rest of my life, I would be oversized all the way. Forever and ever till death do us part.
In middle and high school I had opted for the baggy sweatshirt as a way to hide, but ad I have come into myself, the oversized look of tees and hoodies have simply become a fashion statement and comfort statement. Am I wearing a bra or not? Did I try hard to look this disheveled or do I look like this normally? Model off-duty vibes or simply messy? No one will ever know.
Boys Lie has become one of my favorite brands. They are a wonderful company made up of the coziest and oversized loungewear I have ever purchased. All of the tops are oversized and made to be one size fits all, but the sweat pants of course have actual sizing. Aside from the comfortability, the colors and designs are what really drew me to this brand. There are more mellow designs with just the logo on them, but the more grand designs feature women either in positions of power owning their bodies like this one here or are pictured as fairies or cherub-like entities with sassy/empowering sayings. My collection of Boys Lie clothing has only grown and will only continue to grow, especially after I found out who the founders were. The company was founded by two women who were friends for years and both went through pretty rough breakups with long-term boyfriends at the same time, which spurred the company as we know it today. Who among us doesn’t love deliciously comfortable clothing created by a couple of badass women?
The rest of these pieces are old/newer favorites I’ve already written about, but they are old standbys for a reason. With all of my health issues going on lately, I haven’t been leaving the house very much so when I’m home I have been wearing something like this: oversized on top, comfy leggings on the bottom. So even though it may not be the most fashionable outfit I have ever worn, it is realistic to where I’ve been lately.
Thanks for the continued support friends, really means the world💕
