First Step to Fall
Like most of the country right now, fall is teasing Oregon with a very annoying back and forth of cool and crisp days with random 80-degree days sprinkled in. No matter how much I wish for fall with all of its cozy, comfy, and stylish clothes, I decided to shoot this on a particular day when it was about 75 degrees and sunny and far too hot for a sweatshirt. But at the same time when I woke up, it was 40 degrees. So. Who really knows? But this outfit still ended up being a great example of a flex outfit that you can wear in this weird in-between season. I really hope by my next outfit shoot I can be in full fall garb. Fingers crossed!
I am very much a sweatshirt gal. I would be happy in a great pair of jeans, a great sweatshirt, kick ass shoes, and a terrific bag for my daily uniform. But for those moments when you want a little something extra, but still want to be comfy, a sweatshirt like this is the perfect option. It has all the qualities of a good sweatshirt with its slightly oversized fit, soft on the inside and outside, and you can style it up a bit. The slightly cropped hem and the fun detailing in the back really takes it up a notch from just a casual crewneck to something you can really dress up a bit! Pair with jeans or a skirt and you are ready for whatever you are up to that day.
Last week a YouTube video of me cleaning out my closet and going over this new philosophy of mine, was filmed and then subsequently scrapped when I noticed all the footage had my head completely cut off. C’est la vie. But one of the things i wanted to discuss in that video is this idea of finding my own style and really dressing exactly how I want and having clothing that I love and want to wear at any given time. From work out/loungewear to full on outfits with matching pieces, I want to love everything. So I am currently on a Pinterest rampage trying to figure out exactly what my favorite styles are, I have cleaned out the closet and the dresser, and I am slowly shopping to add in things I love. Stay tuned?
