Last Bits of Summer

As much as I have been fighting fall, I can no longer deny that it is quickly approaching. When I went to leave for work this morning, it was 35 degrees and there was frost on my car. FROST YOU GUYS. When it comes to fall I am usually the most basic of white girls intent on enjoying every rainy day, complete with oversized sweaters and boots, pumpkin patches, and spooky movies. And honestly once October hits I am sure I will start to feel the fall joy (my birthday, Halloween, etc) but for now, I am continuing to feel ripped off from summer. Maybe it is two Covid summers in a row, maybe it’s all the wildfires, maybe it’s none of the above! But either way, I have been very resistant to letting summer go this year. Without any more rambling, please enjoy my last full summer post of the year!

I have been looking for a version of this dress all summer, so of course, I find the perfect one this late in the season. I first saw this style of dress in a similar color on an Instagram ad on a dodgy site. So I took to the internet to find one that I knew would come and come exactly as pictured. This dress is Mink Pink through Revolve and it was exactly what I was looking for! The ruching on the sides and the adjustable one in the front really allow you to make this dress your own when it comes to the length. It is also the most stretchy and soft fabric that really moves with your body and doesn’t do that annoying thing of riding up around you as most body con dresses do. I wear it dressed down most of the time, but it would be so easy to toss on some strappy black heels or heeled boots to dress it up just a little bit.

I have posted this blazer quite a few times already, and the same with my sneakers! I have gotten a couple of comments over the last few posts that people want to see only new things but at this point in time, I cannot afford to always be buying new things for every outfit. Plus, that is not a sustainable way to purchase things in the fashion industry given our current climate change situation. Take this as your sign to style the things you already have in new and funky ways!
