Casual Chic

Hello hello, lovelies! Welcome back to another blog post! While I was shooting this outfit, I had the idea for a second outfit that was very similar to this in its construction, but a much different vibe. So, in an effort to save money on my part as well as showcase the various ways you can style the same pieces, next Wednesday will be a little part two of this shoot! Same ideas, but different colors and aesthetics. The pandemic has been rough on all of us, so if I can help give some new ideas to the clothes you already have, I want to help with that! So let’s dive in, shall we?

I gave myself a budget to get a few new things for summer, and this skirt was one of my purchases! It’s the perfect color, has the cutest ruffle detailing, and who doesn’t love polka dots?? It is very whimsical and girly which is always a style I like to have present in my closet and can very easily be dressed up or down. I paired it with some black strappy heels here for a fun little happy hour style look. With things opening back up a bit, we can actually get dressed for specific occasions again and I am stoked!

This tank top has made many appearances on my socials and blog since last summer when I purchased it, and I have no regrets. I’ve even bought it in two more colors for this summer and love them! They fit so well, are inexpensive, and go with everything. It is the perfect white tank top for summer and can be paired with a skirt like this to be a little more dressy, or jean shorts for a more laid-back look. To make this outfit more laid back I would add flat sandals and then maybe a denim jacket if a light layer was needed. A white sneaker would also be pretty cute with this outfit to make it more laid back.

This shoot was so much fun! I have been enjoying shooting so much more now that the sun has been out more often. My mood and overall creativity are so much better when the sun is out and things are warm! Summer and fall are my two favorite seasons and the times I feel most confident and creative, so here is to a fun, but productive summer!
