Beach Getaway for the Day

Happy Monday lovelies! Even though today is Monday, with so many people still working from home and staying home as much as possible (hopefully) Monday just feels the same as any other day. I know it does for me and honestly, at this point, I’m not sure how I ever lived any other way. Below is my favorite photoshoot I have done to date (except for maybe the concept shoot in the forest) but overall I absolutely loved this one and how it turned out! We took a quick day trip to the coast (social distanced, masks always) and hunkered down at the beach to get some photos done and to enjoy being out of Eugene. It was a much-needed break from the way everything has been here and a good reminder for me to eventually move near the ocean. Keep on scrolling to see this dreamy shoot!

Ever since I was little, being at the beach has made me blissfully happy. It is the place I always feel most myself, the place that makes me the most calm, and it doesn’t hurt that my hair thrives in the salt air either. I have long limbs and a short torso which makes me feel like the perfect mermaid or sea dragon of some kind. Maybe seaweed or kelp even. Being at the ocean makes me feel like part of it, which I feel like even when i am away from it, but it makes me feel more connected when I’m actually there. This probably all sounds very hoaky, but on some level we are all connected to nature and some of us just connect more with one version of it than others.

The past few weeks have been really bad for me endometriosis wise. Lots of pain and swelling and therefore wearing any tight clothing has been a pain (literally). This maxi skirt is perfect for bad pain days, or hot weather if you have a body that functions normally! It’s flowy, lightweight, and super comfortable. It makes things so much easier when it’s hot outside or if you are dealing with pain issues.

This top was purchased a couple of years ago while I was working a retail job and had no going out tops. Back when bars were open and that was a thing people did, the perfect going out outfit was long sought after and I worked hard to create a perfect few outfits I could toss on and look great for the night. I would usually come home from work and toss on one of these outfits and toss on some lipstick and run (literally) out the door. This was one of those many tops that would work with a pair of high-waisted black jeans and some booties! Now that bars and going out is not an option, this tie on top is the most perfect summer top. Skirt, shorts, or jeans this top has come in handy so much more than a casual top to wear out to the bars.

One day I will live near the sea and be this happy every day. But for now, only being an hour and thirty minutes away (with no traffic) isn’t too bad of a deal. One day though, mark my words, I will be living in a tiny bungalow right near the beach.
