June MMM Picks

Hello, lovelies! Welcome to this month’s picks post! If you are new here, I do a round-up once a month of all the things I have been shopping for and like; this month I am doing a round-up of favorite pieces from Black-owned brands! I am going to go back to posting 3 days a week as well as working back into photoshoots and posting not BLM only content. While I understand this is a controversial point, I have finally landed my first brand collaboration (!!!!!!!) and I will be posting for that as well as want to keep the momentum going. I am only working part-time and this is finally becoming the job I have wanted it to become. I am going to do better to incorporate Black women and WOC into my blog more moving forward, as well as continuing to speak on the issues of the racism in this country since they are far from over. My political passions have always been centered on women and how we are so often left out of the conversation, and I recognize I need to include WOC much more than I do. Now, without further adieu, keep scrolling to see this month’s picks!

How gorgeous is this top?! I have been on the hunt for some new tops this season since last summer when I moved I got rid of too many (oops) and now have very few left. But! This top is perfect. It is the perfect dusty rose color, has amazing details, like the tie, and could easily be dressed up or down! It comes in an array of styles and I highly encourage you peruse the rest of their inventory because she makes very beautiful clothing!

I am a sucker for anything this color. Literally, all things this color speaks to me and yells at me to purchase it. And how can I not when this dress is also so unique and cut beautifully? The puffed sleeves, sweetheart neckline, lace-up detail, and the slightly scrunched skirt are all just such a gorgeous combination. I would pair this with docs or flat sandals to make it slightly more casual and you could easily dress it up with some strappy heels like the model is wearing. If you love color and fun silhouettes, I recommend you check out the rest of this shop!

There are so many amazing earnings and other accessories on this site it was super tricky to pick just one to highlight, but I think these were my favorites. This brand has amazing accessories that I can’t believe I haven’t found them before! Just goes to show how Black owned brands get hidden away and not promoted the same way as white owned brands. There are so many fun styles and colors used in these accessories and you can bet I will be purchasing some fun new earring from them soon!

I am a sucker for hoodies and after finding this brand and reading all the reviews mentioning how incredibly soft they are I knew I had to use one of these for this list! While it is expensive for a hoodie, they are all hand-dyed and they are eco-conscious in how they are produced. They have several styles and colors but I just loved this lilac color the most. If you need some more loungewear for staying home (yes we all need to still be staying home as much as possible) then go take a peek!

This is simply a fraction of the amazing brands that are out there owned by Black designers. If you simply Google “black-owned brands” you will be able to find whatever you are looking for. Whatever your next purchase is going to be, make it from a Black-owned brand.
