Another Floral Dress
Before we jump into this post, I wanted to make a quick disclaimer: yes I took these photos outside, yes I had someone take them for me but we have been quarantining together, and no I was not wearing a mask because we were the only ones out there. There is nothing wrong with going outside and it is incredibly helpful for coping with anxiety during this time. We were safe, we gave anyone who did come near us plenty of space, and everything was done above board. Now on to the rest of the post!
I have had this dress for a few years now and while I have always loved it, it has never quite felt right on me. It’s a little out of my usual style range, but I love the colors and the perfect spring vibe so I purchased it anyway. Since then, I have always struggled with how to wear it and make it feel like me, so this is one of those attempts! This is the go-to way I tend to wear it, but I think a pair of chunky boots with slightly different hair might be a perfect way to do it? I have no clue, so if you do at the end of this post let me know!
I have always loved wearing florals. All different kinds, usually darker ones, and mixing them in with denim and combat boots. I tend to love mixing the feminine and the edgy, so when I wear an outfit like this I often feel a little weird. I would normally wear this dress to a dinner or some sort fo casual summer event, but since we cannot go anywhere right now or do anything walking around my neighborhood in the sun will have to be an event enough.
These sandals are my favorite go-to’s for the summer! Unfortunately, I have had them for so long that the zippers on the back have started to corrode, which I didn’t even realize was a possibility, and will need to invest in some gladiator sandals this summer. So below I will have my favorite prospect linked, especially since these are several years old. Gladiator sandals are an important summer wardrobe staple. They are perfect for the casual days out and about, are easily dressed up, and work well for all kinds of events or nights out. Plus they are a great alternative to heels.
This is my go-to denim jacket for flowy dresses or jumpsuits. I have my light wash denim jacket for the more tight-fitting things, but this one is perfect for things like this! Denim is my favorite thing to wear and I wear it all the time, no matter the season. Summer is full of denim shorts, skirts, and jackets that compliment any outfit ever. It is yet another basic that everyone should have in their closet.
Don’t be afraid to get a little dressed up while in quarantine. It may improve your mood much more than you think it will.
