My New Style Crush
Ever since we went into lockdown in March, I have been on a pretty strict spending budget when it comes to clothing. Fashion is my ultimate passion, but the economy is not really in my favor at the moment so instead of bummed that I cannot shop, I am going to share some recent inspiration I cannot wait to act on when I have some more money (hopefully soon) and that inspiration is the French Girl look, specifically Camille from Emily in Paris. This is a new show that has come to Netflix recently, and I was worried it was going to be extremely hoaky and hard to watch, but I have honestly loved it. It is the perfect distraction from the stress of this world, and the fashion on this show is simply gorgeous. For me, the favorite is Emily’s friend Camille. She is the epitome of cool, effortless French Girl style.
Unfortunately, since Camille is not the main character, it can be a lot harder to find outfit photos of her, which is why I included two for my favorite outfit she wears! This plaid dress, sheer, puff-sleeved top, doc marten platforms combination is the outfit of my dreams and I am literally in the process of purchasing the whole look so I can recreate it. That’s how much I love it! The waves in her hair also compliment everything so perfectly, I just cannot handle how wonderful this outfit and I am honestly a little mad I didn’t think of it myself. C’est la vie! Once I have recreated this outfit, I will do an entire post on it with links so if you want to do the same, or just one of the items, everything will be at your fingertips!
This is a simple outfit that would be easy enough to recreate, I just love the fact that it could go from being a casual work attire to something you could add a red lip to and some heels and be ready to go out! It could be work, casual, whatever else you wanted it to be and I love it! It's so simple yet so chic and very old school glam.
Again, since she isn’t the star, it’s hard to find outfit photos of just her, but you can get the idea of this outfit from the photo. I am not a huge fan of the ruffled top, but I love the cropped jacket, the jeans that act slightly more like trousers, and I absolutely cannot get enough of the shoes. It would be very easy to switch out that top for a different one, and still have the same very classic outfit going. This is another one where you could easily take it from work to play, or just wear it as a casual outfit for a lunch or dinner date, or for a day of shopping with friends.
Another great work to night outfit! I have been doing some research on general Parisian style, and so many of their outfits do seem to be things that you could wear for any occasion. You can make them more casual, more dressed up, or more business with just a quick shift of some accessories and I love that! For someone who has to shop on a budget, it is wonderful to see all the various ways you can re-use certain pieces. Like the jeans in this photo are the same jeans she is wearing in the photo with the ruffled shirt. That sheer top from the first photo could be worn on its own with any number of bottoms to switch it up! Camille’s style is just too good not to emulate in so many ways!
I hope you enjoyed this little outfit inspiration burst! I will be back with a photoshoot and some more content next week! Things have just been so busy lately, but I am working on getting back on track. See ya next week!
