Summer to Fall Transition

My favorite fashion season is fall. My favorite season, in general, is fall, but the clothes are one of the main reasons for this love. There are great sweaters and scarves, plus all the amazing boots you can wear. If you are new here, please go and look at some of the many fashion posts I have put up about just how much I love my various boots. It’s all the fun of winter accept for there is slightly less cold so you can still stand to be outside and not cover all of your cute fall clothes with coats (which can also be good honestly). However, if you live in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) like me, the transition to fall can be a little messy. In the past week, it has rained, gotten to a low of 35 degrees, been 79 degrees, and even snowed only 90 miles from me. Since these days can be so unpredictable, I decided to do a little photoshoot to showcase how one can transform their favorite summer outfit to a fall one! This is not allowing for snow; I am not emotionally prepared to accept it is snowing in October.

This is one of my favorite outfits. I was wary of the denim skirt trend when it first came back on the scene. I was visited by memories of skirts that came past my knees with crazy colored knee socks, but luckily the denim skirts of today are much cuter. Distressed, unfinished hem, and exposed button fly add to the non-traditional appeal of this skirt.

On top of a great denim skirt, there is a wonderful body suit. It is a tank top one that is cinched at the bottom so it gives the appearance of a regular top being tucked in. I also used to be against body suits (they are impossible to pee in) but I now own two and this is by far my favorite. Easy to wear with a pair of jeans or a skirt, it adds a little something else to the outfit. A basic pair of gladiator sandals completes this perfect summer look.

But what does one do with their favorite summer outfit when the temperatures begin to dip? Keep reading to find out!

It’s easy to just toss on your favorite flannel and make whatever outfit you have on a little warmer and a little more fall. This is my favorite flannel I own and the colors make it perfect to go with anything.

Last but not least, to fall up your favorite summer outfit is a killer pair of sneakers. Docs would have worked well here too, but honestly, I was just feeling more like Vans. These are shoes that go with everything and add a slight layer of warmth instead of sandals. And voila! You have made your favorite summer outfit a fall one.

I hope you all enjoyed this little summer to fall transition post! More fall fashion photos are on the horizons as well as some other fall-themed content for October. Stay tuned!
