Viva Las Vegas!
Last weekend I got the opportunity to get to go to Las Vegas with my family! It was a much more low key trip than most 21 year olds would end up taking while in Vegas, but it was and a relaxing experience none the less! Take a peak into some of the highlights below!
While in Vegas, we stayed at the Mandalay Bay Casino Resort. Everything in Vegas is a casino resort honestly, but this particular one was a lot of fun and right up my alley. All of the hotels have a specific theme and this one's theme is tropical/jungle and feels like you are on a vacation somewhere far away from the Nevada desert.
The whole hotel is decorated with ornate pictures and statues like this. Walking around truly does feel like you are not in Vegas.
The entire back of the hotel is outlined with the pool area and the lazy river (my personal favorite) and has 3 pools plus a small surfing pool. There is a total of 11 miles of beach environment and makes for the perfect resort feeling getaway.
No one goes to Vegas just to hang out in their hotel though, and if you are then you are doing it wrong. Right outside there are so many fun and interesting things to do! There is also the best people watching ever. On the strip there are all kinds of other hotels you can pop in and look at as well as plenty of shops, rides, and restaurants to explore.
Also make sure to make it a priority to walk the strip at night! The lights and the way that city comes alive when its dark is like a whole other universe and 100% worth it to go and see!
At the end of the day I did not do a whole lot of gambling, so I can't really speak to that. But the little gambling I did do, I failed miserably at left with 4 cents. We had a lot more fun just running around and exploring and making the most of the trip.
Thats all for this post! A simple and whirlwind trip to Vegas was a much needed break and I can't wait to go back and try to have a whole other experience.
