Yes, You Can Wear Boots in the Summer

If you know me personally at all, you know I love my doc martens. I have four pairs; a platform glitter pair, basic black, knee high grey/brown, and the red ones featured in this photo shoot! These cherry red, patent leather boots were my second pair of docs and I have loved them since I saw them on the website and saved up to get them. I bought them my senior year of high school, and purchased them instead of a fancy prom dress. I have been wearing them for almost six years and they look well worn, but that honestly makes them that much better.

Since I am so in love with my various docs, I often wear them in the summer so I can keep my favorite shoes alive year round. The photos below show one of my favorite outfits; dress with docs. It is my favorite outfit vibe to create of mixing something girly with something a little more edgy. It is the style I feel most confident in and feel most myself in.

Red is not my favorite color, which probably makes little sense to you since I just wrote a tiny love letter to them at the beginning of this post. I do not like an over abundance of red and typically go for more muted reds in my day to day life. But there is no arguing how great a pop of red can make you feel. Red shoes and some red lipstick can change your mood drastically and if you have not tried a pop of red in your wardrobe, I highly recommend it.

While I am a huge advocate of wearing boots in the summer, it should be noted that you should not try and get away with wearing knee high boots in the summer. Very few people in this world can pull this off and it often looks disproportionate to everything else you are wearing. As always though, wear what you love and what makes you feel confident regardless of mine or anyone else’s advice.

You guys have heard me gush about this company so many times and in so many different posts. This is one of my favorite pieces I have ever gotten from them, and I cannot recommend them enough.

I love this whole outfit and have worn it to concerts, parties, dinners, and one day last week to simply run errands. It has become one of my favorite go-to outfits and I hope this helped inspired some outfit ideas for you!
