Just Another LA Devotee
Today we are going to take a little break from the insane political world and enjoy some of the simpler things in life, like Disneyland and makeup! At the end of September, my family and I took a trip to Southern California to visit family and to get to spend some time in the happiest place on earth! It was a nice last hoorah to summer before we came back to the rain in Oregon. Hope you all enjoy!
Disneyland
We got to spend two full days at Disneyland and California Adventure, also getting the privilege to stay in a Disneyland hotel. We also planned well and got to go to Disney when they already had everything decorated for Halloween, which none of us had ever seen before. And let me tell you, it was fricken magical.
Mickey Mouse in pumpkin form was everywhere. Little Mickey’s on food, clothes, and toys. And big Mickey’s like this giant pumpkin that greets you as soon as you walk into the park.
The first day we were there, my sister and I “dressed up” as Jack and Sally to incorporate the Halloween vibe. From here, we just did you regular Disney things: we rode rides (and got to fast pass most of them since I was in wheel chair), ate crazy Halloween themed treats, and had general merriment and amusement in a place that is still genuinely full of magic.
Two days of joy and child-like fun and we all wanted to stay forever. But all good things must come to end to allow other new and fun memories to occur!
Glossier
One of the last days before we left LA, my sister, cousin and I found our way down to the Glossier story in Melrose Place and had ran around like kids in a candy store. Bless my cousins fiancé for putting up with us in there.
I have been a Glossier fan for many years, and finally being able to get into the store I have seen all over Instagram and blogs and videos, was a dream come true. The connivence of being able to order my favorite beauty products from bed is great, but having the ability to touch and test things out was wonderful.
The feel of the store is the same feel the website has: calm, cool, imperfectly perfect. It has a “come as you are” feeling and I could have stayed in there all day. Besides the store and all of its magic products, they built a canyon into the store as a tribute to California.
The lighting was amazing, and they added in sounds to make it feel like you were in an actual canyon. Again, could have stayed in here forever.
It was a short and sweet trip, but overall, LA gave us one last fun trip before we all went back to school and work and real life. A well deserved break we all needed!
Thanks for reading everyone! I will be posting again this Friday so stay tuned for that!
